eyes turned inwards, force-fed the tragic sight
of decaying innards, meet silent apathy and blight
frothing denial brewing within
kindness and empathy corrupted by need
vile, livid mouths spew the tragic seethe
twisted morphing from angels into succubi
soulless is the vortex of kinship and pain
voiding all senses, hooks and cages in their stead
contorting reality, wrecked bodies marching on
nemesis-wed, in sickness and health
we are led to the grave and beyond
